What I like most about the story and the photographs is that you have captured life as lived. So often we look for grand sites, stunning landscapes, or unique places, when the most amazing portraits come from a life well lived. Thank you, Brenda.

I have so many wonderful memories of times with my brothers—we are still making memories and quite a few are in Maine! Thanks for sharing.

Such a lovely Maine story here, with images to boot! Especially appreciate the shots of the wood stove and of the bison. DID NOT KNOW that there were bison in my home state, and I'm guessing that this will be a surprise for others as well. As for the lopsided red barn, you should visit my home county of Aroostook to see several more of them!
I might just do that next time I'm in Maine, Susan! I love lopsided barns...such personality to them. Yes, there were bison - they sold them two years ago, after it was becoming too much work for the two of them, and they were tied to the place and wanted to travel more. Getting someone to 'bison sit' was a challenge. They had a great run of years with that experience, though, and their cousin before that. I don't know if there are others in the state presently, but they sold them either locally or regionally.
I just gotta say that I think the first half of the gallery captures some magnificent light.
