Hope the NANPA event went well.

It did, Gordon. Thanks! It was mixed light, never a great sunrise or sunset, but at least a mix that gave us moody light!

I'm sure everyone got lots of great photos.

You do not disappoint! What an eye, what appreciation and seeing (and technique to match).

My photography has come down to smartphone use, though I keep promising myself more of a real camera. But just today I spotted a bumble bee feeding on a native bleeding heart in our garden, and I had to get down on my knees (no knee pads, ouch) for some close shots. I am happy with what I captured. Definitely documentary and not artistic, but I love the big yellow saddlebags that bee collected. And I'll share the images with an entomologist friend who loves to observe the pollinators in our garden.

Thank you. I love seeing bees with their saddlebags, too, Kristi! Being close so that we’re in their world is really neat. The naturalist style of photographs is essential for so much conservation/education work. I will continue to do that, it’s in my blood…

Oh, Brenda...what gorgeous images you have shared with us in this post! Thank you. Am especially interested to learn the locations of the 1st and 5th images, if you are willing to tell. Am happy to learn that you have undertaken so much ocean photography on our 'Blue Planet'. The ocean attracts me like no other biome/ecosystem. Not difficult to understand, for, as you state, the ocean is the origin of life. Wish I could have joined you for the photo-tour, but circumstances did not favor this opportunity. I trust that all participants had a joyous time creating images and being around "the origin of life." You've brought a smile to my face yet again.

Thanks, Susan. The first image was along the Monterey coast in California, specifically along sunset drive. The fifth image was at negative tides on Bandon Beach, Oregon. And I think many of us are drawn to the ocean. When I see so many walking around the beaches during low tide, I know it’s a fascination and exploration with wonder.

Wow such a variety of shots, I love how you get both a documentary image and also a abstract images. Just compled a "boo camp" landscape private tour in the dordogne with Tim Mannakee, it was quite a time.

Thanks, Dan. I had to chuckle - a “boo camp”?? Ah yes, a great typo. I hope your boot camp with Tim was fantastic!!
